New construction businesses, straight from the license.

New business lists usually come from company registrations, which say little about what a business does. A contractor license says exactly that, so this list tells you who just got licensed, in which trade, and where.

$29 a month per state, $99 for every state, or a one-time CSV pack from $19.

A license says more than a registration

A new LLC could be anything. A new Class C-10 license is an electrical contractor who has just passed the state's requirements and needs insurance, a bond and a supplier account. That's why this list is cut by trade, and why it's useful to anyone selling into the construction trades.

How a business gets on the list

A license counts as new on its original issue date, or, where a record publishes no such date, on the first day it appears when we compare one day's records with the last. Renewals don't count, and neither do licenses a person holds to work for someone else, such as a journeyman's.

Questions

How often is the list updated?

Every day. Each state's page shows how many licenses are new in the last 7, 30 and 90 days.

Does it include every new business?

No: only licensed contractors, in the places we cover. A business that doesn't need a license, or works somewhere we don't read, won't appear.

Are these sales leads?

This is licensing data, not an exclusive lead: anyone subscribed to a state sees the same licenses, and nobody on the list has asked to hear from you.
